Kelly Rowland Graces Cover of Marie Claire UK

The beautiful Kelly Rowland is featured on the January 2012 cover of Marie Claire UK magazine.  Kelly has a very strong fan base overseas, so it's only fitting that she appears on the first cover of the year for the UK magazine:

 She looks gorgeous!

Check out a few pics from her inside spread:

Pretty in Pink

Black and White pictures are always the best.

Very Sexy

*Photographed by David Oldham. Styled by Jane Pickering.

What do you think of Kelly's pictorial spread? Do you think she was a good pick for the cover?

Tom Ford Spring 2011 Fishnet Over-the-Knee Boots

Earlier this year, Eva Marcille twitpic'd a picture of herself wearing these limited edition fishnet over-the-knee boots from Tom Ford's Spring 2011 Collection:

Beyonce modeled the same boots down the catwalk of Tom Ford's debut womenswear show on September 12th:

Italian fashion editor Anna Della Russo was spotted wearing the sexy boots during Fashion Week:

She paired them with a Stella McCartney dress

The other day, Kijafa Frink, fiance of Philadelphia Eagle's Quarterback Michael Vick, twitpic'd a picture of her legs in the boots.  Her Twitter Avitar is a picture of herself wearing the boots with an animal print dress:

I think the boots are VERY sexy.  They retail for $5,200.  What do you think? Would you rock these?

Patterned Tights Fashion Trend

Sheer, patterned, lacy, embellished leggings and tights are all the rave this season.  Many designers are creating leggings and tights for women, including panty hose, in a variety of textured and opague designs.  They can be worn underneath short dresses and skirts or as pants with a long top.

Top Model, Eva Marcille, was spotted earlier this year in these Brian Lichtenberg Black Angular Patchwork Silver Glitter Leggings and I instantly fell in love.:

Eva paired them with a black off-the-shoulder top and Gucci "Kills" Peeptoe Platform Booties. You can purchase them here

Rihanna was spotted leaving Japanese restaurant Nozomi in Knightsbridge wearing these Henry Holland Suspender Tights with some Dark Denim Flag Print Hotpants.  Both are from TopShop.

Melanie Fiona wore these patterned Wolford tights underneath a Alexander McQueen Asymmetric Hem Riding Coat while hosting the red carpet at the 2011 Soul Train Awards.

You can also find similar leggings and tights at the following retailers: Urban Outfitters, Asos, and American Apparel to name a few.

And for my Twitter addicts, how about these Social Network "Follow Me" thigh high stockings?:

They have "Follow Me" written on both legs.  You can find them on Etsy  and looks like there is only 1 pair left.

What do you think of this trend? Is it something that you would wear?

Cassie Models Swimwear for InStyle Magazine

Singer Cassie is featured in InStyle Magazine's December 2011 issue modeling "scuba-inspired" swimwear.  The filipino and black singer has been doing more modeling lately than singing and that may be a good thing.  This girl never takes a bad picture.  Ever.  She definitely knows how to work the camera.  Cassie shaved one side of her head back in 2009 and while she was criticized for it at first, it quickly became a popular trend among many celebs.  Cassie has since shaved the other side of her head leaving enough hair at the top to cover the shaved sides.  This has become the singer's signature look.

Cassie's InStyle Magazine shoot titled "The Hot Zone" differs from her previous more "urban" shoots.  The main differences I noticed were that she is more fully clothed and wearing very light make-up, if any at all.  Cassie's previous shoots show off her awesome bod in scantily clad clothing and dramatic make-up looks.  This InStyle shoot is totally "toned down" and she still looks just as beautiful.  Check out the gorgeous images from the spread where she is wearing scuba-inspired pieces from Lisa Marie Fernandez, Cynthis Rowley, Body Glove, and Michael Kors :

Simple and beautiful.  What do you guys think of the shoot?

Neon Fashion Trend

Neon colors in fashion seemed to be very popular this year.  Celebrities were spotted wearing cute, form fitting dresses in bright neon and fluorescent colors.  This neon trend will be carried into the Fall.  I'm definitely a lover of bright colors and neon takes me back to the 80's which was the era that I grew up in as a child (I'm telling my age, lol).  Check out the celebs that were spotted this year in neon fashion:

Singer Mya wore this cute, colorful LV Twenty Three dress to her 32nd birthday celebration last month. The dress, called 'Visibly Jess' can be found on LV Twenty Three's website here

British singer Leona Lewis wore this hot 2-piece, neon bright number to an event.  She paired it with nude pumps.  You can never go wrong with nude shoes. They go with virtually anything.  The dress is one of many that the singer designed herself.  She plans to start her own ethical clothing line.

Former 3LW member, Adrienne Bailon recently wore this cute Dominique Auxilly neon dress to her 28th birthday party at Vanity Nightclub in Vegas

Video Director Vashtie Kola also wore the Dominique Auxilly "Cali Girl" dress last April to her birthday celebration in New York City at Santos

For all you shoe lovers, some shoe designers have released some uber cute neon shoes in their Fall collections:

Giuseppe Zanotti Neon Colorblock Platform d'Orsay Pump ($750)
B Brian Atwood Suede Colorblock Pump ($350)

Giuseppe Zanotti Neon Colorblock Platform Sandal ($695)

Giuseppi Zanotti Patent Colorblock Pump ($695)

All of these shoes can be found at here at  Neiman Marcus.  Are you feeling the Neon fashion trend?

Versace Re-Issues Iconic Silk Print Shirts

Versace has re-issued a limited number of its classic printed silk shirts that were ever so popular in the 1990's.  The shirts will be available in all Versace stores worldwide as well as select department stores, boutiques and online shops.  Versace decided to re-release the classic silk shirts after seeing various runway collections  filled with obvious inspiration from its late 90's trend.

Here are pictures of the re-released iconic silk print shirts:

Rappers Tyga, Drake, and Flo-Rida were all spotted recently wearing silk Versace shirts:

Tyga wore this Versace Silk Barocca Print Shirt in a spread for Rap-Up Magazine

Tyga's Young Money label mate Drake wore the same Versace Silk Barocca Print shirt in a different color to his 25th birthday celebration at TAO

Rapper Flo-Rida was spotted in the same shirt at TAO as part of his Young Jeezy Halloween costume.  I have so many questions here: 1). Why is he dressing up as Jeezy for Halloween?  2). When has Jeezy ever worn a silk Versace shirt or anything silk for that matter? 3). Who would have even been able to guess that he was dressed as Jeezy?  Ok, I have so many more, but I'll stop there....

And unless you've been living under a rock, you know that Versace is releasing a collection for H&M that will be available in  H&M stores November 19, 2011 at 8am.  Check out the full women and men's collection here

Michelle Obama Wears a DVF Replica

First Lady, Michelle Obama, wore a black and orange striped dress to the White House Halloween party to hand out candy and other healthier treats.  The colors in the dress were very fitting for the occasion which I'm pretty sure is the reason Mrs. Obama (or whomever) selected the dress to wear to the Halloween event.

Perfect for a Halloween event or party, right?
However, the First Lady is being criticized because the dress, which came from Asos appears to be a "knock-off" of Diane von Furstenberg's Savannah Striped Dress from the designer's Fall 2011 collection.

The dress Mrs. Obama wore from Asos is on the left and the DVF Original is on the right.

The Asos version of the dress retails for $72, while the DVF dress retails for $498.  Both dresses vary in color and the neckline on both dresses are different.  Mrs. Obama is being criticized all over the 'net for wearing a knock-off.  The Obamas just can't catch a break, can they? I don't see what the big deal is.  Clearly Mrs. Obama has the money and can afford a DVF original dress, but maybe she wasn't even aware that the Asos dress was a knock-off of the famous designer.  Perhaps, she wasn't even the one who picked out the dress.  I mean....maybe she chose the Asos version over the DVF because the colors were more suitable for Halloween.  Or how about she probably didn't care that it was a replica and thought it made more $ense to make a more affordable purchase.

I think the fact that Mrs. Obama shops on asos.com alone shows her realness and how down-to-earth she is because that is one of my favorite online shopping sites.  The Obamas will always be in a "damned if they do, damned if they don't" situation no matter what.  Now had she gone with the nearly $500 DVF Savannah Striped dress, she would have probably been criticized for spending that much money on a dress being the First Lady during a time of economic turmoil.  As a matter of fact, she was criticized in the past for wearing an expensive pair of Lanvin sneakers to a food bank.  It's likely that she reflected back on that unnecessary criticism and wanted to avoid any of that this time around by selecting a cheaper alternative dress.

I think Mrs. Obama looks great and the fact that she knows how to be frugal at times is a great reflection of her being the First Lady.  Nothing is wrong with being a budget fashionista, even when you are the First Lady.  What do you think about Mrs. Obama wearing a "knock-off"?

Kanye West Reveals Womens Wear Line at Paris Fashion Week

Kanye West introduced his first clothing line, DW by Kanye West, at Paris Fashion Week.  DW by Kanye West is a womens wear collection dedicated to his mother, the late Donda West.  The Ready to Wear Spring/Summer 2012 fashion show took place at the Lycee Henri IV in Paris, France on October 1, 2011.  Kanye West has been spotted in the front row of many runway shows over the years, and he was apparently taking notes and gaining inspiration for his upcoming clothing line.

The audience consisted of several big names in fashion such as Alexander Wang, Sylvia Fendi, Anna Wintour, Lindsay Lohan, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, and Ciara just to name a few.  Kanye mainly used black, cream, and white palettes with  plunging necklines, tasteful cut-outs, high leg slits, fur collars, and a few asymmetrical hems.

Here are several of the looks from the DW by Kanye West collection. *photo credit

Here are some of my favorite looks from the collection:

I think out of all the looks, this cut-out dress (or it may be a top and a skirt) is one of my favorites.  Definitely something I would wear in a heartbeat.

Kanye used Jourdan Dunn as one of his runway models

Chanel Iman (right) also model some of the runway looks

Two other looks that Chanel Iman and Jourdan Dunn modeled down the runway

He added a little color to some of the pieces.

All of the shoes worn by the models in the show were specially designed by Giuseppi Zanotti

Mr. West kept his attire simple sporting a white tee and jeans.

I personally loved most of the looks from the collection.  The price point hasn't been revealed yet, but hopefully it will be affordable because I definitely saw a few pieces that I would rock.  Ladies, what do you think of DW by Kanye West? Is it something you would wear?
