Believe it or not, ripped stockings and tights are a fashion trend. Long gone are the days when your outfit was ruined because of a run going down the leg of your favorite pair of pantyhose. Now, instead of grabbing a bottle of clear nail polish to stop the run, you can just let it rip. And instead of being frowned upon as looking tacky, you can be viewed as a fashionista. That is, if you are willing to take fashion risks.
This ripped trend has been seen going down many runways.
One of my favorite supermodels Kate Moss
Here are some true fashionistas featured on chictopia sporting this "hole-ly" look
One of the good things about this trend is that it's easy and rather inexpensive to pull off. How hard is it to intentionally put some holes in a pair of tights or panty hose? It's also a good way to add some edginess to your look. Keep in mind that this is not a look for the office, but perfect for a night out on the town. I don't know about you, but I'm about ready to put some holes in some tights. Who's gonna join me?
Statement Earrings are BIG and bold. They dangle and are often referred to as shoulder dusters. These earrings make it easy to glam up your overall look. If you are self conscious about your body, statement earrings will draw attention upwards by bringing focus to your face and away from your body's problem areas.
This is a returning trend that was first made popular in the 1960's by Fashion Icon, Edie Sedgwick. Statement Earrings were Edie's signature style staple.
Edie Sedgwick was the "It Girl" of the 60's and pop artist Andy Warhol's muse. The story of her life was depicted in the biopic Factory Girl. Her character was portrayed by Sienna Miller.
Statement earrings have been seen going down the runways of fashion designers Louis Vuitton, Lanvin, and
Zac Posen to name a few.

Many celebrities have been spotted wearing Statement Earrings:
Kate Beckinsale looks glamorous in these in these Ruby Red Statement Earrings
The beautiful Beyonce Knowles wore these huge ball statement Chanel earrings to an event.
Hilary Duff looks very elegant in these Statement Earrings.
I found the following Statement Earrings over at Asos:
Dangling Ball Statement Earrings
I LOVE these!
I love the mirror effect of these
Very Pretty!
If you like to be the center of attention, then Statement Earrings are the way to go! These earrings are not for the shy at heart. Me personally, I don't like wearing heavy earrings for fear of stretching or ripping my earlobe. I did notice that some of the ones from Asos were clip-ons. Again, that would be another "no go" for me, as I've always found clip-ons to be very uncomfortable. I'm also scared of long, dangling earrings accidentally catching on to my clothing or getting stuck in my hair. So, if you are bold enough to sport this look, be very careful and use precaution.
Tonight is a big night in Los Angeles. The 61st Primetime Emmy Awards are going on right now as I type this. I only look forward to the Red Carpet because I find the actual awards show rather long and boring. So withouth further adieu, here are my Fave and 'Not So Fave' looks of the night. Some of you may agree or disagree with me which is fine because we all have different tastes.
Best Dressed
I'm really loving Kim Kardashian's look. I don't think I've ever seen her wear anything that I didn't like. She tweeted earlier that she had a wardrobe malfunction. Her zipper broke on her dress right before she was to appear on the red carpet and her stylist had to fix it for it.
Her older sister Kourtney, was glowing on the red carpet with her very preggers belly.
Both sisters looked amazing!
A very preggers Heidi Klum looked stunning in this black gown. Is it me, or does this chick STAY pregnant?
Olivia Wilde wore one of my favorite looks of the night. This look is very risque, which is what I like about it. I love the back of the dress. Gorgeous!
Vanessa Williams looks radiant in this gown. I love this color! Does she ever age? I hope I look this good at 50.
Christina Applegate looks nice. I like the color of this gown and the detailed beading at the waist. Very pretty.
Hayden Panettiere wore this red number. I was torn about the look at first. But the more I look at it, the more it works for me. She's also pulling off the "red lip" again.
This is another one of my fave looks of the night. Dancing With the Stars Karina Smirnoff successfully pulled off the "all black everything" look in this black gown. Loves it!
I am really loving this purple gown worn by Lindsay Price. Purple just so happens to be my favorite color. I love the dramatic draping at the bottom of the dress. I am also feeling the black satin strap and the brooch really adds nice detail to the dress. She looks absolutely stunning!
January Jones wore this white gown. I really like the bustier top and the sheer detailing of it. I also like the dramatic train at the bottom.
I like this dress that Kristen Chenoweth wore, but I don't think it is appropriate for the Emmys. I think only long gowns should be worn to the Emmys. But the dress is very cute and sparkly.
Now on to the worst looks of the night....
This dress that Shar Jackson wore is hideous. I mean, what was she thinking when she put this on? She always looks a hot ass mess to me. That purple clutch doesn't even go with this horrible ensemble. What's priceless about this picture is the horrid look on the woman's face in the back. LOL!
I'm not feeling anything about this black and white polka dot look that Chloe Sevigny wore.
Jane Krakowski wore this shimmery number. Totally not feeling this.
I don't like this look on Sarah Silverman. The wide draping at the hips make her look huge. Her stylist needs to be fired.
At first I thought I liked this look from Top Chef's Padma Lakshmi. Again, I was torn by the purple and the fact that I like purple and red together. But, the more I look at this, it looks like she has something abnormal growing out the side of her hip. The red roses look like they're in the way. I bet you she can't even put her hand on that side of her hip. The dress would've been fine if it wasn't for the roses
Um, WTF Victoria Rowell? I love my President and all, but not enough to rock this monstrosity. Is she serious? It literally looks like she took some fabric and wrapped it around her body.
Since I am literally obsessed with make-up (especially eye shadows), I decided to share with you all some of my essential make-up items.
Urban Decay Primer Potion. This is an eye shadow primer that makes your shadow stay on all day. This is especially great if you have oily skin. Just apply this as a base all over your lid underneath your shadow. This is a "must have"
Maybelline Colossal Volum Express Mascara. It increases your lash volume 9 times with just one coating. This works very well and really extends your lashes. I love this mascara! I highly recommend it, especially if your're like me and don't have very long lashes. This is perfect for when I don't feel like wearing false lashes.
I always keep a stash of these Ardel lashes. They can be found at most beauty supply stores anywhere from $3 to $6. I've also seen them at Target. They are 100% human hair and look very natural.
Smashbox Brow Tech. I use this to color in and define my eye brows. It also comes with a wax that sort of "slicks" your brows down in a way so that they stay in place. (*I also use that same exact #12 brush from Smashbox with the brow tech)
I use this MAC Penultimate Eyeliner pencil to line my top lid and my lower lash line. This pen-style liner makes it easy for you to draw a precise line with just one stroke.
MAC Mineralize Skin Finish. I use this as a bronzer all over my face. This gives me a nice, bronzy glow in the summertime when the sun hits my face.
Cinema Secrets Brush Cleaner. Ladies, it is VERY important that you keep your make-up brushes clean. Any brush cleaner will do the trick, I just happen to use this particular brand.
Coastal Scents 88 Shimmer Palette. This is my most recent make-up purchase. This palette has 88 different dime-sized shadows. As you can see, it has some really pretty colors and each one has a nice shimmer to it. The shadows are highly-pigmented, meaning that the colors are very virbrant. I am in love with this palette.
