Couture Lollipops

Sugar Factory had its Launch Party for former Spice Girl Mel B's Sugar Factory Couture Lollipop Series at Guys and Dolls Lounge in Los Angeles, CA last night.

Couture Lollipops, created by Sugar Factory, come with bejeweled and custom handles.  They can be custom made to match your mood or outfit.  Couture Lollipops are portable and come with a case to put away and save for later.  The Signautre Series Couture Lollipops have become a favorite amongst many fashionable stars like Kim Kardashian, Britney Spears and Rihanna, just to name a few.

Kim Kardashian came out to celebrate with Mel B.  Both ladies look fabulous.  Love both dresses they are rocking.

Rihanna and Katy Perry were spotted back in August sucking on Couture Lollipops.

You can purchase the Signature Series Couture Lollipops at sugarfactory.com  for a whopping $25 a "pop" (pun intended).  I can't front, they definitely make cute fashion "accessories", but I can't see myself paying $25 for a single sucker.  I'd feel like I got "suckered" (pun intended again) after it was gone.

Alter Ego

Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child is one of the many celebrities to do an "Alter Ego" photo shoot with Atlanta's famed photographer Derek Blanks.  Kelly's alter ego was "Rosie the Riveter" vs Pin-Up girl.

I LOVE it! Kelly is such a fabulous chick. This is probably one of my favorite alter ego shoots to date.  Check out more of Derek Blank's work at dblanks.com.

Here's a "behind the scenes" video from the photo shoot:

Turn Up the Heat!

That title is very appropriate for the cold temps Atlanta and other cities/states around the U.S. have been experiencing this winter.  But this time I'm not referring to the weather.  I'm speaking of singer, Beyonce's new fragrance called "Heat".  She recently filmed the official commercial for the fragrance.  I found some really cute "behind the scenes" pictures online from the commercial shoot.  I love "behind the scenes" photos and video footage.  They are always so candid.  Candid shots make the best pictures.

And here is the finished product:

Very Sexy and Sultry. But what else would you expect from Mrs. Carter? I haven't smelled this fragrance yet.  If any of you have experienced "Heat" please leave a comment and let me know whether or not you like it.

Curves Ahead

V Magazine is coming out with "The Size Issue" called Curves Ahead.  Curves Ahead showcases the curvier side of modeling by featuring five gorgeous plus size models.

These beautiful women can be seen dressed in everything from bustier tops, body suits, skinny jeans, high heel stilettos, and even nothing at all.  They are flaunting their extra curves, love handles, fuller breasts, and rounder tummies with the utmost confidence and pride.  "The Size Issue" proves that you don't have to be a size zero to be considered sexy.

Norwegian fashion photographer, Solve Sundsbo said that he "loved the opportunity to show that you can be beautiful and sexy outside the narrow interpretations that normally define us."

The Size Issue hits newsstands on January 14th.  The rest of the hot images can be seen at models.com.  You can also visit VMagazine.com for a video preview of the photoshoot.

Large Retailers Trash Unsold Clothes

This week the New York Times reported a disheartening story about H & M and Walmart, two of the largest retail chains.  They are throwing out and destroying unsold goods instead of taking them to sample sales or donating to charity.  They are destroying garments by slashing and putting holes in them to the point that they are unwearable.

The shocking discovery was made by graduate student Cynthia Magnus outside the back entrance of H&M on 35th street in New York City. Just a few doors down, she also found hundreds of Wal-Mart tagged items with holes made in them that were dumped by a contractor. On December 7, she spotted 20 bags of clothing outside of H&M including, "gloves with the fingers cut off, warm socks, cute patent leather Mary Jane school shoes, maybe for fourth graders, with the instep cut up with a scissor, men’s jackets, slashed across the body and the arms. The puffy fiber fill was coming out in big white cotton balls.”

This discovery is very unsettling, especially in these recessive times.  For the full story click here
