I was given the Honest Scrap Award by Tatianna of Sex and the Southern Belle! Thanks so much! First, "I'd like to thank God and the gays..." ~Lady GaGa (2009 VMA's)~ LOL! But on a more serious note, I'd like to take time out to thank Tatianna and take this opportunity to pass it on to 5 of my favorite bloggers.
The Skinny:
- Say thanks and link back to the presenter of the award.
- Share "10 Honest Things" about myself.
- Present this award to 5 others whose blogs I find brilliant in content and/or design, or those who have encouraged me.
- Tell those 5 people they've been awarded HONEST SCRAP and inform them of these guidelines upon receiving.
2. With my family being scattered all over the United States, I've never grown up with or around any of my cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc. Because of that, I've never been close with any of my relatives (deceased or still living) with the exception of my mother and father. I have an uncle on both my mother and my father's side that I've never met.
3. I am addicted to make-up although I don't wear it everyday. I have been teaching myself how to properly apply make-up, mainly eye shadow. I watch a lot of make-up tutorial videos on YouTube and am constantly practicing various make-up looks from the videos. I love trying out new make-up products/tools and enjoy filling up my make-up case.
4. I am also addicted to the Internet and online social networking websites like Facebook and Twitter. I spend countless hours on the Internet each evening and it is the main reason why I can't get in the bed before 12am during the week. Facebook has reconnected me with so many people from my past and Twitter is just so damn entertaining, lol!
5. I am extremely shy and have a fear of speaking in front of an audience. If something requires me to have to speak in front of a group of people, I usually won't do it or will find a way to get out of it.
6. Even though this is a fashion blog, my very own wardrobe is suffering immensely. Due to the effects of the recession, I am not able to shop as often as I'd like these days. A lot of times this puts a damper on my blogging mood because I'm unable to go out and buy the half of the items I blog about.
7. I put ranch dressing on my pizza and sometimes put bbq sauce on my french fries.
8. I'm not really big on eating sweets. I have to be in the mood or have a craving for it (normally during that time of the month). Most of the time I'll pass on the cake at birthday parties or other celebrations where cake or dessert is served.
9. I can not fall asleep with the lights or tv on. It has to be complete silence and extremely dark in order for me to fall asleep.
10. I've never liked any job that I've ever worked at. I mean, I have liked certain aspects of previous jobs (i.e. pay, benefits, people, etc), but I've never liked the actual job itself. I often wonder what it is like to totally love what the type of work that you do to the point where you actually look forward to going to work each day.

I feel the same way as you, re: #1. I've been in NY for 8 years now and have only one person I'd really call a friend - and we live pretty far apart, and each kind of just have our own life/family. It can be lonely. I also agree with #2. I wish I had a big, close family like many people, but we are so geographically scattered, and so I'm just not that close to any of my cousins/aunts.
I'm addicted too. *smh* I can't even lie. I'd rather be online than out socializing, or doing much of anything else really. I'm addicted to my blog, addicted to Twitter, addicted to checking my email, the list goes on. That's a shame.
#9 I can relate to as well, and LOL @ #6. Im only laughing cuz i feel you. I guess thats why i DO love this blog - cuz i can live vicariously thru the posts, since i too cant afford to buy any of the things you blog about.
I don't mind public speaking sometimes (when I am VERY comfortable/confident about the subject) but I generally hate it and avoid it as well. I was so glad that i had to leave early at my best friend's wedding (in Disney) because I'd honestly been dreading the toast ever since she got engaged a year prior. I was able to duck out early with a legitimate excuse (had to relieve the Disney child care sitter and get Chase). Id never been so happy. I feel so mean saying that, but it's true.
