Ken and Barbie Get Married

I came across these pictures over at glamour.com and thought they were sooo cute! Growing up, playing with Barbie dolls as a child, I can really appreciate the creativity that was put into this entire concept of a Ken and Barbie wedding.  French photographer Beatrice de Guigne did this "photo shoot" over a series of three days.  She spent two hours each day setting up the shoot which consisted of her propping the dolls up long enough to snap the shots. She said that she spent five minutes on each pose and when it was all said and done she had sore knees, back, and elbows.  I can imagine!  Along with this "fairytale" shoot, Beatrice created a fairytale storyline to go along with it:
After 50 years of dating, America's favorite couple, Ken and Barbie, finally tied the knot.  Barbie got tired of waiting on Ken to pop the question, so she went ahead and asked him for his hand in marriage.  The couple got married at Faraway Castle in Plasticity. As for the wedding attire, Barbie got her gown from The Fairy Godmother Shop and her shoes from the Cinderella Shop.  Ken got his wedding attire from The Prince Charming Emporium.
Too cute! I am literally tickled pink looking at all of these shots, lol!  Check out the pictures from Ken and Barbie's wedding album:

While the bride was getting ready, Ken was also getting ready with help from his groomsmen

As usual, it took much longer for the bride to get ready because she had to get her hair done prior to getting dressed.  She and her hairstylist discuss how they are going to style her hair.

The bride opted for something simple, yet elegant, with a single braid to the side.

The happy couple pictured with their bridal party.  Ken and Barbie had a very non-traditional wedding where the bridal party sat during the ceremony and the bride and groom sat down with one bridesmaid, while the rest of the bridal party stood, for the wedding party pictures.

Great shot!

So in love...

Picture perfect!

Ken and Barbie along with their bridal party dined in style at the reception.  Look at the beautiful place settings!

MTV Video Music Awards Red Carpet Looks

Last night, the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards aired and celebs showed off their red carpet looks on the black carpet this year.  The red carpet arrivals are always my favorite part of the show. So, without further adieu, here are my favorite looks of the night:

Kelly Rowland looks fabulous in this black and gold fringed Fall 2011 Falguni & Shane Peacock dress.  She is also wearing Christian Louboutin pumps.

Zoe Saldana wore a beaded Barbara Bui tunic dress with shoes from the same designer.  This was worn as a shirt on the runway, but Zoe put her on spin on it and rocked it as a dress.  This is something that not everyone would be able to get away with. Very cute.

Justin Bieber's "boo", Selena Gomez wore a short, lace dress with a train by Julien MacDonald.

I like this green dress worn  by Maria Menounos. I'm not sure how I like those shoes paired with it, but the dress definitely works for me.

Beyonce definitely made my night, along with many others, with the announcement and the "showing off" of her new baby bump.  She looks beautiful and she's definitely glowing.  This explains why her husband, Jay Z has been wearing such a big, permanent smile on his face lately. Congrats to my favorite couple!  By the way, Beyonce is wearing a floor length Lanvin gown and jewels by Lorraine Schwartz.

And now for the worst dressed of the night:

Kreayshawn looks a hot mess.

And I have no words for Nicki Minaj. Like seriously, what is this?

Lady Gaga. I'm speechless. And not in a good way.

What were your favorite outfits of the night? Do you agree with my picks?

Shop Garb Boutique Online

Reality tv star, Toya Carter Wright, recently launched a new website for her clothing store called Garb Boutique.  Toya co-starred with "Tiny" (former member of Xscape and wife of Atlanta rapper, T.I.) on BET's "Tiny and Toya" and now has her own reality show "Toya A Family Affair" on the same network.

In October of 2010, Toya opened Garb Boutique in her hometown of New Orleans, LA.  From the reality tv show fame, Toya has built quite a large fan base from all over the United States.  Many of her fans who do not reside in New Orleans have been asking her for months (via her twitter account) when Garb Boutique would be available for online shopping.  Well today, Toya announced on twitter that the website for Garb Boutique has finally launched and is up and running at shopgarbboutique.com .

Most of the cute clothes seen worn by the reality star (and recent newlywed) on her tv show and at various red carpet events can be found at Garb Boutique.  Ever since her store opened last October, she has been retweeting pictures of her fans in their cute "Garb" outfits bought right out of the boutique.  Toya has given a unique nickname to customers of her store.  She refers to anyone that has ever shopped in her store as "Garbies".  She even sells cute t-shirts that read, "I'm A Garbie" on the front.

Here's a recent picture that Toya twitpic'd of herself getting prepped for the Hoodie Awards in an "I'm A Garbie" t-shirt.

Now everybody can become "Garbies" by shopping at  Garb Boutique  online. Due to high anticipation of the website's launch, the "Shop" feature is down right now as it has crashed due to high traffic. Toya announced on twitter that it is being upgraded now.  In the meantime, if you are in New Orleans you can visit Garb Boutique at 2108 Magazine St. New Orleans, LA 70130. Check back on the site later or follow Toya's twitter for an update on when it is back up and running.

UPDATE: shopgarboutique.com is now back up and running.
