LaLa Endorses Motives Nail Candy

La La Anthony is the proud sponsor of a unique nail polish line called Motives Nail Candy - a product by Market America.  The line features rich, long lasting color that is chip resistant and free of toluene, formaldehyde, dubutyl phthalate (DBP).  Motives Nail Candy comes in 27 trendsetting colors.  La La dishes about her favorite color on the site: "Glam Girl" is a shimmery golden brown color which she says adds a playful, festive touch to her look no matter what she's wearing.

Glam Girl

La La also reveals her other favorite Motives Nail Candy shades:

This long-lasting nail color is very affordable at just $5.95 a bottle.  These would make great stocking stuffers.  What's even better is that you can earn cash back on your purchase.  Check out the other 20 beautiful shades here.

Being a nail addict myself, I can always appreciate a good, quality nail polish.  Polish chipping is one of my biggest gripes about wearing color on my nails.  The fact that Motives Nail Candy is chip resistant is definitely a big selling point for me.  I see a lot of pretty colors that I am dying to try out.  What about you? Are u as eager as I am to try Motives Nail Candy?

Kelly Rowland Graces Cover of Marie Claire UK

The beautiful Kelly Rowland is featured on the January 2012 cover of Marie Claire UK magazine.  Kelly has a very strong fan base overseas, so it's only fitting that she appears on the first cover of the year for the UK magazine:

 She looks gorgeous!

Check out a few pics from her inside spread:

Cassie Models Swimwear for InStyle Magazine

Singer Cassie is featured in InStyle Magazine's December 2011 issue modeling "scuba-inspired" swimwear.  The filipino and black singer has been doing more modeling lately than singing and that may be a good thing.  This girl never takes a bad picture.  Ever.  She definitely knows how to work the camera.  Cassie shaved one side of her head back in 2009 and while she was criticized for it at first, it quickly became a popular trend among many celebs.  Cassie has since shaved the other side of her head leaving enough hair at the top to cover the shaved sides.  This has become the singer's signature look.

Cassie's InStyle Magazine shoot titled "The Hot Zone" differs from her previous more "urban" shoots.  The main differences I noticed were that she is more fully clothed and wearing very light make-up, if any at all.  Cassie's previous shoots show off her awesome bod in scantily clad clothing and dramatic make-up looks.  This InStyle shoot is totally "toned down" and she still looks just as beautiful.  Check out the gorgeous images from the spread where she is wearing scuba-inspired pieces from Lisa Marie Fernandez, Cynthis Rowley, Body Glove, and Michael Kors :

Simple and beautiful.  What do you guys think of the shoot?

R.I.P. Aaliyah

Today marks the 10 year anniversary of Aaliyah's death.  I can't believe it's been 10 years already. I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I heard the bad news.  I didn't want to believe it at first and hoped it was a bad rumor.  I still cry to this day when I think back to that tragic day.

I am dedicating this post to Aaliyah because she was definitely a trendsetter who was way ahead of her time.  Even though she is no longer with us her legacy still lives on.  You can see her trendsetting styles being carried on today by many artists and entertainers.  Here are just a few examples:

Aaliyah was famous for the "hair over the eye" and highly arched eye brow look as you can see being worn by singer Cassie Ventura.

Recently during the promotion of her "4" album, Beyonce poses for Complex Magazine and strikes a pose very similar to one that Aaliyah did early on

Ciara, who coins herself as a singer/dancer much like Aaliyah, borrowed most of her dance moves and wardrobe selections from the late singer as seen in the photos above.

Beyonce strikes another pose for her Dangerously in Love album that is similar to two that were previously done by Aaliyah.

Beyonce's dark, dramatic eye make-up for her Sasha Fierce album is similar in comparison to Aaliyah's in the above photo.  She even has on a similar top.

As you can see, Aaliyah is the originator of many trends that you see today.  She made it popular to bare your midriff by wearing cropped tops.  She had and still has many women in the gym today trying to flatten their tummies and obtain great abs.  Aaliyah wore long, flowing tresses that many women weren't wearing back then.  Today, you see a lot of women donning the same hairstyles Aaliyah wore 10 years ago.

On the 10 year anniversary of her death, many celebrities shared memories of Aaliyah.  Peep the video below to hear what they had to say:

R.I.P. Aaliyah....You are truly missed....

Sephora Delivers

If you live in the NYC area (Manhattan to be exact) and you're a Sephora lover, then you can now have your favorite beauty items delivered to your doorstep.  On July 12, 2011 Sephora launched its new same day delivery service exclusively to New York residents.  All you have to do is call 1-877-Sephora  and place your order between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. and it will be delivered between 12 p.m. and 9 p.m.  There is a $15 delivery charge with a $50 minimum order.  How cool is that?!

*model/actress Brooklyn Decker did the honors of cutting the red ribbon during the launching ceremony

Deliveries will be made in style.  A customized black Mini Cooper with white stripes on the side (reminiscent of the retailer's shopping bags) will pull up with your "must have" goodies ready to be delivered to your doorstep.

I am so envious of NYC residents right now. I surely hope Sephora decides to expand this service to other areas.  Would you take advantage of this service if it were to ever become available in your area?

Flaunt It!

Keri Hilson is featured in the new issue of Flaunt Magazine doing just that.  She is "flaunting" it for the cameras and she looks flawless doing it:

Very Pretty!

To my Followers: I know I've been doing a bad job lately of updating this blog.  I haven't totally given up on it.  I'm going to try to start doing regular updates really soon.  I recently got a new gig and I work later hours, not to mention I have a long commute to and from work now.  By the time I get home, I hardly have any energy to do anything.  So please bear with me for now until I can get used to this new schedule and get back into the groove of things.

Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child is one of the many celebrities to do an "Alter Ego" photo shoot with Atlanta's famed photographer Derek Blanks.  Kelly's alter ego was "Rosie the Riveter" vs Pin-Up girl.

I LOVE it! Kelly is such a fabulous chick. This is probably one of my favorite alter ego shoots to date.  Check out more of Derek Blank's work at dblanks.com.

Here's a "behind the scenes" video from the photo shoot:

Turn Up the Heat!

That title is very appropriate for the cold temps Atlanta and other cities/states around the U.S. have been experiencing this winter.  But this time I'm not referring to the weather.  I'm speaking of singer, Beyonce's new fragrance called "Heat".  She recently filmed the official commercial for the fragrance.  I found some really cute "behind the scenes" pictures online from the commercial shoot.  I love "behind the scenes" photos and video footage.  They are always so candid.  Candid shots make the best pictures.

And here is one of her ads for "Heat"

And here is the finished product:

Very Sexy and Sultry. But what else would you expect from Mrs. Carter? I haven't smelled this fragrance yet.  If any of you have experienced "Heat" please leave a comment and let me know whether or not you like it.
